WhyHunger launched the Hungerthon campaign in 1975 as an annual Thanksgiving radio tradition to raise critical funds to support communities across America and build awareness about hunger and it root causes.
WhyHunger’s 35th annual Hungerthon will kick off on Nov 1, 2020 and run through the holiday season on air and at hungerthon.org, with a specific emphasis on the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving. This unique campaign includes radio broadcasts, exclusive online auctions, signature merchandise and social media activation via #Hungerthon. The live Hungerthon radio broadcast at Entercom New York will be Tuesday, November 24th.
The 2019 campaign brought together donors, like you, celebrity supporters including Yoko Ono Lennon, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Morello, Mickey Factz and Frzy among others, and radio partners including SiriusXM, Entercom New York stations and their digital platforms, and iHeart New York for a month of action and awareness building.
